Second Task

 Pros and cons of advertising

To begin with I want to tell you that I am a nursing student and I am in my fifth semester.

Advertising today is one of the best tools, for example with advertising we can promote: beauty products, products for our pets, products for housing, products for personal hygiene, to publicize places: restaurants, cities, towns, villages, shopping malls, parks, universities, schools and others; it also helps to publicize the different services provided by people can be the following: airport transportation, transportation to schools, transportation, online teachers, online courses, babysitters. One of the topics that are most associated with my career, promoting health is made known in different ways, the vaccines that are available, in the pandemic the information provided on self-care, basic recommendations to improve our lifestyle, also one that I feel should be a little more promoted but unfortunately is not currently seen is to show the different companies that provide nursing services at home is a topic that helps a lot for all those people who need a more personalized care that their families do not have the time to provide care.

Advertising covers many topics as I mentioned earlier, so I feel that today is good and best of all is that we find it in different media such as television, radio and the internet which is what today the human being consumes more.

I want to tell you something about my experience during the pandemic as we know we were in quarantine for several months to take care of COVID-19, we waited a long time for the vaccine to have a little more hope of life and to be able to continue with our lives, it was a process of several months, a very long time, but it was achieved. When the vaccine against COVID-19 came out, there was publicity everywhere, in social networks, internet, radio, television, which helped to promote vaccination in the population worldwide. At the same time there was too much misinformation and most of all this bad information was acquired by the elderly, since they created chains in which they shared them through different groups and social networks saying that the vaccine against COVID-19 was something bad, they wanted to rule us, which was all very false since vaccines have saved many lives and today it is the safest thing against any virus or any disease. When the vaccine came out that was in 2021 I was in practices and those practices I had them in a way, one of our goal of these practices was to change the opinion of older adults that if it was a good idea to get vaccinated, along with my colleagues we created many presentations, talks, to help all that population decided to get vaccinated as it was the best, in that practice I was very happy because I met Mrs. Marta, a very nice lady, a very good person that even though I never met her in person, I talked to her almost every afternoon because that is the basis of my practice, she told me everything about what she had read about the vaccine, why she did not want to be vaccinated and why she refused to do so, but with a lot of strength and patience we managed to change her mind and she decided to get vaccinated, for me it was something very gratifying because I fulfilled the objective. Mrs. Marta was very grateful because she realized that by not getting vaccinated she would be making a big mistake and she also realized that everything she had read, all the information that had been shared with her was false, today I have almost no contact with her but I know that after her vaccination she was very happy.

During the pandemic for no one is a secret that nurses were some of those who had more work fortunately and unfortunately, because it was not for very pleasant reasons but this allowed for different companies or groups of people to create their new venture, in the case of some friends they are nursing assistants and this brought together several who were unemployed and created a page on facebook and made flyers, promoted on instagram and different social networks, they became known, as they are nursing assistants, reported the different services they offered, they had a lot of work. All those people who left the hospital and went home and had no one to take care of them, contacted them and they provided a good service. Today their business has grown a lot and in Medellin they are very well known, they work in particular and the truth is that they offer very good services, they also have opportunities for those people who are graduating as nursing assistants so that they can continue with their profession.
